Tiwri Collaboration: Terms of Use FAQ

Can I use Tiwri for teamwork on documents for free?

Yes, you can. You can use the Duet free plan, which lets you do the following:

  • Own 2 documents;
  • Have access to an unlimited number of documents of other Tiwri users;
  • Share your documents with unlimited number of collaborators.

This plan is extremely useful in cases of your team’s “administrator” is subscribed to a paid Tiwri plan and owns multiple documents, while each collaborator is subscribed to the Duet free plan and can work on multiple documents owned by the administrator.

Do all members of my team have to pay for using Tiwri?

No, they do not. Even if you need to work together on multiple documents, only one team member (the “administrator”) needs to be subscribed to a paid Tiwri plan. The administrator must own all documents of your team and share them with other team members (“collaborators”), who only need to be subscribed to the Duet free plan. As you can see, only the administrator needs to be subscribed to a paid plan.

Who are “collaborators” in the description of Tiwri plans?

A “collaborator” is a Tiwri user allowed to access your shared documents.

If I am subscribed to the Duet free plan, can I work on more than 2 documents?

Yes, you can. Though you can own only 2 documents, you can work on an unlimited number of documents of another Tiwri users who have shared those documents with you.

Is the number of users who can share their documents with me limited?

The number of users who can share their documents with you is unlimited.

Who is a “manager” and why should I add him to my account?

A manager is another Tiwri user, usually a member of your team, who can be entitled by you to manage documents in your account (that is, to create, delete, and share documents). A manager is not allowed to switch your account to another Tiwri plan, or to access your account settings or billing settings.

To assign a manager, you must be subscribed to a paid plan.

What is counted as a month when calculating the amount of payment for Tiwri services?

A month is counted as 30 days (monthly period).

How often is money charged off my balance if I am subscribed to a paid plan?

If you are subscribed to a paid plan, the full amount for your package (plan + extra options) is charged off your balance each thirty days.

What does “Suspended” mean if my plan is in the Collaboration mode?

If the monthly fee cannot be charged off your balance, the Collaboration feature in your account will be “Suspended” until you top up your balance and pay for our services. When “Suspended”, you cannot change the extra options without switching to another plan, but can only switch to another plan.

Can I switch to a more expensive plan before the current monthly period ends? If I can, how the amount of payment will be calculated, and which payments will be incurred?

Yes, you can. You can switch to a more expensive plan anytime if your balance is sufficient. In this case:

If 10 days or less have passed since the beginning of the current monthly period, you will get back 50 percent of the amount for your current package (plan + extra options) to your balance. At the same time, the amount for your new package will be charged off your balance; from now on, this amount will be charged off each 30 days.

If more than 10 days have passed since the beginning of the current monthly period, the services will be deemed as provided in full, and you will not get any money back. The amount for your new package (plan + extra options) will be charged off your balance; from now on, this amount will be charged off each 30 days.

Can I switch to a less expensive plan before the current monthly period ends? If I can, how the amount of payment will be calculated, and which payments will be incurred?

Yes, you can. You can switch to a less expensive plan anytime if the resulting numbers of documents in your account will not exceed the respective limits in your new package (plan + extra options), and if your balance is sufficient to pay for the new plan. In this case:

The services for the old plan will be deemed as provided in full for the current monthly period, and you will not get any money back.

The amount for your new package (plan + extra options) will be charged off your balance; from now on, this amount will be charged off each 30 days.

To save money, we recommend switching to a less expensive plan on the last day of the current monthly period.

Can I, while keeping my plan, add new options (have more additional documents) before the current monthly period ends? If I can, how the amount of payment will be calculated, and which payments will be incurred?

Yes, you can. You can increase the numbers of documents anytime while keeping your plan, provided that your balance is sufficient. In this case:

Only the amount for the new (added) options will be charged off your balance, and this amount will be added to the monthly fee for your package (plan + extra options).

The end-date of your current monthly period will not be changed. When the next monthly period begins, the amount for the new package (plan + extra options) will be charged off your balance, as usually.

Can I, while keeping my plan, remove some options (have fewer additional documents) before the current monthly period ends? If I can, how the amount of payment will be calculated, and which payments will be incurred?

Yes, you can. You can reduce the numbers of documents while keeping your plan anytime, provided that the resulting numbers of documents in your account will not exceed the respective limits in your new package (plan + extra options). In this case:

The services for the old package will be deemed as provided in full for the current monthly period, and no money will be reimbursed to your balance.

There will be no other charge-offs from your balance. The end-date of your current monthly period will not be changed. When the next monthly period begins, the amount for the changed package (plan + extra options) will be charged off your balance, as usually.

Can I switch from a paid plan to a free one?

Yes, you can. Generally, it is done based on the same rules as when switching to a less expensive plan. Please note that the numbers of documents must not exceed the respective limits of the free plan. When switching to a free plan, you will also have to disable your managers (if there are any in your account).

Which type of license for Dr.Explain do I need for teamwork on documents via Tiwri.com?

For a fully-featured teamwork on documents via Tiwri.com, you need the Ultima license for Dr.Explain.

If I have a Free, Regular, or Advanced license for Dr.Explain, how exactly my teamwork on documents via Tiwri.com will be limited?

If you don’t have the Ultima license for Dr.Explain, you can still work remotely with documents via Tiwri, but you will be able to modify only the documents created 7 days ago or more recently. Any older documents will be available in read-only mode.

What will happen to my documents and to my account settings if I fail to pay for the next monthly period in good time?

If your balance is insufficient to pay for the next monthly period at the due time, your current package in the Collaboration section (plan and extra options) will be “Suspended.” In this mode, all documents are read-only, you cannot add any new documents or new collaborators, and you cannot modify any document access rights. You still can delete documents, delete collaborators, or switch to a less expensive plan.

If your package stays “Suspended” for more than one week, all your collaborators and managers will automatically lose their access rights to all documents in your account.

If your package stays “Suspended” for more than one month, your account will be automatically switched to the free plan, and all your documents be deleted, except for the two most recently modified ones. The remaining documents will become editable again.

Can I transfer the document I own to another Tiwri account and keep all the document history?
Yes. You can transfer any document you own along with its changes history to another account at any moment if the recipient's account uses a paid plan.
